ABOUT THE ROLE


Operating at the highest levels of international motorsport, M-Sport UK delivers programmes across the FIA World Rally Championship, Rally Raid and a variety of global customer racing activities. We have an exciting opportunity to recruit a skilled, organised and enthusiastic Tyre Controller to join our Operations team at our Dovenby Hall headquarters.


This is an exciting opportunity to work at the heart of M-Sport’s motorsport operations, supporting the management, preparation and control of tyres of our competition programmes. The role will involve working both from our Dovenby Hall headquarters and travelling to tests and events, supporting our teams in the UK and internationally.


The role responsibilities include:


  • Tyre Management: Manage the preparation, allocation, storage and movement of tyres for tests, events and workshop activities.

  • Event Support: Travel to motorsport tests and events, supporting the tyre operation and ensuring all required tyres are available and correctly allocated throughout the event.

  • Stock Control: Maintain accurate records of tyre stock, specifications, usage and movements, ensuring stock levels are monitored and maintained appropriately.

  • Tyre Preparation: Prepare tyres for use, including inspection, identification, labelling and ensuring tyres are ready for the relevant vehicle and event requirements.

  • Tyre Fitting & Removal: Support the fitting, removal and movement of tyres as required during tests and events, working closely with vehicle technicians and engineers.

  • Documentation: Maintain accurate tyre records, paperwork and documentation, ensuring information is recorded correctly and available to the relevant technical personnel.

  • Event Organisation: Work closely with the wider event team to ensure tyres are delivered to the correct location and available at the required time.

  • Quality & Condition: Inspect tyres for damage, wear and general condition, reporting any concerns and ensuring tyres are handled and stored in accordance with the required standards.

Essential Criteria & Skills:


  • Motorsport & Automotive Interest: A genuine interest in motorsport with enthusiasm for working in a competition environment.

  • Organisation: Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, priorities and deadlines simultaneously.

  • Practical Skills: Strong practical and hands-on skills, with the ability to carry out physical tasks.

  • Attention to Detail: A meticulous approach to recording information, stock control and ensuring the correct tyres are prepared and allocated.

  • Teamwork: Ability to work effectively as part of a busy event operations and events team.

  • Communication: Good verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues across the business.

  • Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and extended hours when required to support tests and events.

  • Travel: Willingness and ability to travel regularly, including internationally as part of the role.


Preferred Experience:


  • Previous experience within motorsport, automotive, tyre fitting, vehicle preparation, logistics or a similar technical environment is desirable but not essential.
