ABOUT THE ROLE


Operating at the highest levels of international motorsport, M-Sport UK delivers programmes across the FIA World Rally Championship, Rally-Raid, and a variety of global customer racing activities. We’re looking to recruit a skilled and enthusiastic Showcar Technician to join our team at our Dovenby Hall headquarters.


This is an exciting opportunity to work across a wide range of M-Sport’s projects, supporting the maintenance, preparation and deployment of show cars and heritage rally cars across our Rally Raid (Raptor T1+), Rally1 (Puma), and Rally2 (Fiesta) programmes. Working closely with colleagues across our technical, workshop, operations and marketing teams, you will help ensure our vehicles are presented to the highest possible standard for events, exhibitions, launches, promotional activities and customer experiences around the world.


The role responsibilities include: 


  • Show Car Preparation: Prepare, build and maintain show cars and display vehicles to a high standard, ensuring they are ready for events, exhibitions and promotional activities.

  • Vehicle Builds: Assist with the assembly, preparation and modification of vehicles across a variety of M-Sport projects, following technical requirements and build specifications.

  • Vehicle Maintenance: Carry out routine maintenance, inspections and repairs to ensure show cars remain in excellent mechanical and visual condition.

  • Vehicle Preparation: Ensure vehicles are presented to an exceptional standard, paying close attention to appearance, cleanliness, fitment and overall presentation.

  • Event Support: Support the preparation of vehicles for events, launches, exhibitions, promotional activities and customer experiences.

  • Vehicle Movement: Safely manoeuvre, load, unload and transport vehicles around the M-Sport site and to external events as required.

  • Fault Finding: Identify and resolve mechanical, electrical and general vehicle issues, ensuring vehicles are reliable and ready to use.

  • Quality Control: Inspect completed work to ensure vehicles meet M-Sport’s expected standards of quality, presentation and workmanship.

  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work completed, vehicle condition and any repairs or modifications undertaken.

  • General Workshop Support: Assist with wider workshop related activities across M-Sport as required, adapting to changing project requirements and priorities.

Essential Criteria & Skills:


  • Technical Understanding & Education: Educated to Level 3 Motor Vehicle or Race Technician standard with a thorough understanding of motor vehicles and their systems.

  • Attention to Detail: A meticulous approach to vehicle preparation and presentation, with pride in delivering work to a high standard.

  • Problem Solving: A practical and methodical approach to identifying and resolving technical issues.

  • Quality Focus: High standard of workmanship, with the ability to identify defects and ensure completed work meets the required standard.

  • Communication Skills: Good verbal communication skills amongst colleagues and confident communicator who can talk with guests and clients.

  • Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively within a busy workshop environment while also being capable of working independently.

  • Global Travel: Willingness and flexibility to travel internationally and domestically to support marketing events.


Preferred Experience:


  • Previous experience working within a professional motorsport environment, ideally in rally, rallycross, rally raid, circuit racing or similar disciplines would be advantageous.
