Race-bred automotive engineering brand MS-RT were looking for the perfect location to celebrate a memorable year where they consolidated and strengthened their partnership with Ford. As M-Sport are renowned for providing the engineering expertise behind the multi-award-winning range of Ford rally cars, it was only right that MS-RT travelled back to their roots and staged their unique event at M-Sport’s newly opened Evaluation Centre in Cockermouth, Cumbria. Participants included high-performing Ford dealers and members of Ford of Britain and Ford of Europe’s senior leadership teams.
Positioned on the edge of the UNESCO English Lake District National Park, our brand-new M-Sport Evaluation Centre (MS-EC) provides an expanded and enhanced hub for all of M-Sport’s engineering and rally car construction operations. Set in the heart of the breath-taking Cumbrian landscape, the MS-EC provided the perfect venue for Matthew Wilson, son of M-Sport boss and former World Rally Championship driver Malcolm Wilson, to demonstrate his own world class skill behind the wheel of the Fiesta WRC. Those brave enough to climb aboard the pocket rocket were thrilled and tested in equal measure.
Participants were given an immersive motor sport experience that included a tour of M-Sport’s state-of-the-art facilities at their Cockermouth headquarters, hot laps in a Ford Mustang Mach-E GT, piloted by a professional stunt driver, and an opportunity to compete against Matthew Wilson on the virtual rally race simulator.
