M-SPORT PAVES THE WAY FROM EUROPE TO THE WORLD STAGE

M-Sport Poland will support the 2021 FIA European Rally Championship with career boosting prize packages.

In a joint venture with FIA, Eurosport and Pirelli, M-Sport Poland will be offering the winners of the 2021 FIA ERC Junior and ERC3 Junior Championships the opportunity to propel their careers forward with highly sought-after prize drives.

Determined to push the boundaries of developing and supporting up and coming rally talent, M-Sport Poland will reward the 2021 ERC3 Junior Champion with three prize drives in ERC Junior for 2022 in the all new M-Sport Fiesta Rally3.

Should the 2021 ERC3 Junior Champion win the championship in a Fiesta Rally4, the prize is doubled to reward the champion with six prize drives with the Fiesta Rally3 in the 2022 ERC Junior Championship.

To further underline M-Sport Poland’s commitment to the next generation of rally stars, the 2021 ERC Junior Champion will receive a fully-funded FIA Junior WRC Championship prize drive for 2022.

M-Sport Poland has been a proud supporter of FIA ERC, winning the championship three times in a row with Kajetan Kajetanowicz in 2015, 2016 and 2017. More recently support has been given to the junior ranks with Ken Torn winning both the ERC3 and ERC3 Junior Championships this year after winning four out of five rounds.

The level of support that M-Sport Poland is offering to young drivers in 2021 is unrivalled in the rallying world and wouldn’t be possible if it wasn’t for M-Sport’s Ladder of Opportunity. For 2021, M-Sport is currently the only manufacturer to have a car available on every tier of the FIA’s Rally Car pyramid. It means drivers can learn ERC rallies in the ERC3 Junior category using a two-wheel drive Fiesta Rally4 and fight for an opportunity to step up to ERC Junior and progress to four-wheel drive machinery. Following a successful ERC Junior campaign, the very same driver could then go on to progress to the FIA Junior WRC Championship for the chance to win the biggest prize package in rallying.

Maciej Woda, Director, M-Sport Poland:

“I am really looking forward to offering these great opportunities in 2021. M-Sport Poland has been a long time supporter of the FIA European Rally Championship and our commitment to ERC Junior and ERC3 Junior only strengthens that support. FIA ERC is a great place for a driver to start learning the ropes of international rallying and there is always a friendly and supportive atmosphere on each event. It is really great to see this combined effort between ourselves, FIA, Eurosport and Pirelli to support the next generation of drivers. Junior drivers are the future stars of our sport and it is particularly important, now more than ever, to offer them this support.”

Malcolm Wilson OBE, Managing Director, M-Sport, said:

“Developing young drivers has always been at the heart of our business, and the FIA European Rally Championship has long been a proving ground for some of the world’s best up-and-coming talent. We’re dedicated to providing a clear and cost-effective route whereby the most promising youngsters can reach the very top of our sport, and this new series adds another string to that bow. I look forward to seeing what talent comes to the fore in 2021, and to monitoring their progress as they work towards the ultimate goal of becoming a future world champion.”
