The second-generation Bentley Continental GT3 has won its first championship after dominating the final two rounds of the Blancpain GT World Challenge America this weekend. Alvaro Parente and Bentley works driver, Andy Soucek, drove flawlessly to take commanding victories at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The pace of the Continental GT3 was on show from the very start of the weekend. Soucek took pole position for round 13 in the #9, with Parente repeating the feat in the second qualifying session, securing top spot by a staggering four tenths of a second. While the #9 was able to control both races from the front, Maxime Soulet and Rodrigo Baptista, made the most of the Continental GT3’s performance, converting third and fourth place starts into third and second place finishes in the #3 machine. Rounds 13 and 14 drew a season rich of success to a close for the K-PAX Racing-run Continental GT3s, which provided the team with a platform to compete at the top from the very outset, taking six victories, seven poles and 23 podiums on the way to the Teams’ Title. Paul Williams, Bentley’s Director of Motorsport, commented: “To see our customer teams win championships is something we can all celebrate. We have provided K-PAX with a Bentley Motorsport engineer at each race, and in return the K-PAX engineers came to Spa to support the works team. “Such results show what the car is capable of, confirming the race and championship winning potential of the Continental GT3.”
