Éric Camilli and Benjamin Veillas will give the all-new EcoBoost-powered Ford Fiesta R5 its FIA World Rally Championship debut next week – tackling the famous stages of Neste Rally Finland.
The Frenchman tested the car during its design and development and was behind the wheel when it made its first public appearance as the VIP car for Belgium’s Ypres Rally.
In preparation for its maiden WRC 2 Pro outing, the team have completed a comprehensive test and are ready to contest the most iconic event in the rallying calendar.
Éric Camilli said:
“It’s great to be back competing with M-Sport. This is where my career properly started, and they are a very special team for me. Back in 2016 I was a young driver with very little experience, but they gave me an incredible opportunity and I’m really happy to be back with this new car.
“It’s also great to be back competing at Rally Finland. It’s one of my favourite events and the roads here are made for rallying. With the speed, the jumps, the cuts and the technical sections – you have absolutely everything you need to enjoy being at the wheel of a rally car!
“The competition in WRC 2 Pro is incredibly strong – and we’re expecting a big challenge as the Finns always go well at home – but we will give our best and work hard to deliver a strong result.”
