FABRICATOR
ABOUT THE ROLE
Operating at the highest levels of international motorsport, M-Sport UK delivers championship-winning programmes across the FIA World Rally Championship, Rally-Raid, and a variety of global customer racing activities.
We are looking to recruit a skilled and motivated Fabricator to join our specialist Fabrication Department at our Dovenby Hall headquarters. This role plays a key part in the manufacture and assembly of precision-engineered components and structures that support our competition vehicle programmes. Working closely with Design Engineers, Manufacturing Engineers and Technicians, you will help deliver the quality, reliability and performance required to compete at the very highest level of motorsport.
This role also offers the opportunity to travel internationally in support of motorsport events and test programmes.
The role responsibilities include:

Component Fabrication: Manufacture and assemble components from engineering drawings, technical specifications and fabrication jigs.

Material Processing: Work with a variety of materials including steel, aluminium and stainless steel to produce high-quality components and assemblies.

Workshop Operations: Carry out cutting, forming, fitting and assembly operations to exacting standards.

Welding & Assembly: Perform precision welding and fabrication tasks while maintaining the highest levels of workmanship and consistency.

Quality Assurance: Ensure all fabricated parts meet required quality standards, dimensional tolerances and technical specifications.

Machinery Operation: Operate fabrication machinery, tooling and workshop equipment safely and effectively.

Continuous Improvement: Support departmental improvement initiatives and contribute to enhancing manufacturing processes and efficiency.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues across Manufacturing, Design, Engineering and Workshop teams to support vehicle build and development programmes.

Essential Criteria & Skills:

Technical Qualification: Qualified to Level 3 Certificate, NVQ Level 3, apprenticeship standard or equivalent qualification in Fabrication and Welding.

Engineering Knowledge: Good understanding of engineering principles, fabrication processes and manufacturing techniques.

Welding Skills: High-quality MIG and TIG welding skills with excellent attention to detail.

Drawing Interpretation: Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, fabrication jigs and technical documentation.

Inspection & Measurement: Competent in the use of measuring equipment and basic inspection techniques to verify component accuracy.

Organisation & Time Management: Highly organised with the ability to multitask and prioritise workloads effectively under pressure.

Problem Solving: Practical and proactive approach to identifying and resolving manufacturing challenges.

Communication & Teamwork: Excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred Experience:

Previous experience working within a fabrication, welding or precision manufacturing environment.
