APPRENTICE ELECTRICAL HARNESS TECHNICIAN​

ABOUT THE ROLE​

​

We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and hands-on Apprentice Electrical Harness Technician to join our Electrical Department. This apprenticeship offers a unique opportunity to support the manufacture, assembly, and testing of complex electrical harnesses used across our competition cars. Alongside your apprenticeship training, you’ll gain real-world experience working to the same standards used at the highest level of international motorsport.

The role and responsibilities include:

​

  • Assisting with the build and assembly of electrical wiring looms and harnesses.

  • Learning to read and interpret wiring diagrams and technical drawings.

  • Preparing, cutting, terminating, and labelling wires to exact specifications.

  • Support fault-finding, testing and quality checks.

  • Carry out soldering, crimping, heat-shrinking, and loom preparation using approved tools and techniques.

  • Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe working environment.

  • Working closely with experienced technicians to meet build deadlines.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

​

We’re looking for a self-motivated team player with a positive and enthusiastic attitude. The ideal candidate will be:

​

  • Good knowledge and understanding of engineering principles.

  • Strong interest in automotive, electrical engineering and motorsport.

  • A practical hands-on approach with excellent attention to detail and highly organised.

  • Willingness to learn hands-on workshop techniques.

  • Ability to follow instructions, and work both independently and collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

  • Good communication skills, and a keen eye for problem solving.

 

Qualifications: ​

​

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) grades 9 – 4 (or A* – C) in Maths, English, and a Science subject.

  • A Level 2 qualification in Engineering is desirable, but not essential.

WHAT DO I NEED TO CONSIDER

​

This is a 42-month (plus End Point Assessment) apprenticeship, where you will spend time with our local training provider Gen2, in addition to working on-site at our Dovenby Hall Headquarters. At Gen2, you will learn a range of hands-on and theoretical engineering skills. Training will be delivered on a one day per week basis at their training centre.
