VACANCIES | ADMINISTRATION | HEALTH & SAFETY ADMINISTRATOR

A Health and Safety Administrator is required immediately to support our busy team.

Based at our team headquarters just outside Cockermouth, the role will involve working with a part time Health and Safety consultant to implement and maintain the company’s health and safety policies, which will include:

  • Carrying out, reviewing and updating risk assessments, COSHH assessments and other health and safety documentation.

  • Providing inductions to personnel such as new members of staff and contractors.

  • Organising health and safety related training for employees such as manual handling, first aid etc.

  • Organising the servicing/inspection/maintenance of various types of equipment/machinery.

  • Keeping up to date with Health and Safety legislation to ensure that the Company remains compliant with all relevant regulations.

  • Recording and investigating accidents, near misses and other incidents, and keeping up to date various records the Company has in relation to health and safety.

The ideal candidate should have:

  • Experience of working in health and safety.

  • Knowledge/experience of working in a fabricating/manufacturing/engineering/motor workshop/warehousing environment would be advantageous, as this will provide the candidate with an understanding of some of the health and safety topics relevant to the Company.

  • A Health and Safety qualification such as NEBOSH or IOSH would be beneficial but not essential.

  • Have a meticulous attention to detail.

  • Have good computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft office, particularly Word and Excel.

  • Have the ability to independently research and understand new topics, in order to help introduce new health and safety procedures within the Company.

The role would suit a self-motivated team player with an enthusiastic attitude. The role will require working on various projects and topics simultaneously, both individually and as part of a team. It will require working with departments throughout the company to ensure that all areas of the company comply with the relevant Health and Safety Regulations. Applicants must have an interest in Health and Safety as well as competence and experience in an administrative environment
