Class win for Everard on the North Humberside Rally
Saturday saw the third round of the BTRDA rally championship, the North Humberside Forest Rally, an event organised by Fiesta SportingTrophy regular James Everard's local motor club. It was a great opportunity for Everard, co-driver Sam Collis and the used-garage-equipment.com team to put the Fiesta ST through its paces in a very competitive test in preparation for the Pirelli National Rally, the second round of the Fiesta SportingTrophy UK coming up on the 19 April.
The rally, based in the town of Whitby, North Yorkshire, consisted of three stages repeated twice. For the morning stages the weather was clear and Everard set some very fast times, finishing ahead of all the other front wheel drive cars.
In the afternoon, torrential rain made the already slippy surface much more hazardous, so a little more caution was required, but Everard and Collis encountered no problems though out the rally. Finishing ahead of a long list of four wheel drive turbo cars, Everard finished first in class N3 and 37th overall of the 117 entrants.
All in all, it was a great day for the team and an encouraging result, for the new for this season pairing of Everard and Collis.

“We could have pushed harder but that wasn't our aim for this event. We made some adjustments on our set up, ready for the next round of the Fiesta SportingTrophy championship. Sam and I won our class and I couldn't have hoped for a better result for this event. The team and I are very pleased with the weekend’s work.”
