Jukka Korhonen wins FST Finland title

The fifth round of Finland´s Fiesta SportTrophy was held at last weekend’s SM Ralli Tarku. At this event, Jukka Korhonen won the Ford Motorcraft FST title with one round in hand.

Ex-British Rally Champion Korhonen has been impressive this season by taking four FST victories. In Turku he won by a margin of one minute after nine special stages.

“We had another good event and only after the rally did I notice that we had won the FST title with one round remaining. I still have a chance to win the Finnish Championship title too,” said a happy Korhonen after the event.

Rookie driver Miika Hokkanen was second in Turku and he also moved up to second position in the Ford Motorcraft FST points.

Still competing at a junior level, 18-year-old Jani Luhtaniemi took the final podium position in third. This was only his third major event with pacenotes and also with the Ford Fiesta R2.

The last FST event of the season will be run at the end of September in Tampere.
