M-Sport Racing will contest the first race of the Avon Tyres British GT series without Emirati Humaid Al Masaood. Due to personal reasons, the bronze driver is unable to attend the first outing at Oulton Park and, as a result, Dutch driver Rembert Berg will take to the wheel as a last-minute substitute.

Having contested four races with M-Sport Racing in 2013, Berg was the obvious replacement. Teaming his experience of the team and championship with Steven Kane's knowledge of the Bentley Continental GT3, the duo makes a highly competitive pairing with real potential for a successful weekend.

Berg knows what it takes to secure a podium in the series having claimed two top-three finishes as part of M-Sport's racing debut. Despite having never driven the Continental GT3 in competition, the Dutchman has the best possible instructor in the form of team mate Kane.

Kane was instrumental in the design and development of the Crewe-based manufacturer's return to racing and formed an intrinsic part of the M-Sport Bentley team that secured an impressive fourth place on the Continental GT3's debut at last year's Gulf 12 Hour in Abu Dhabi.

The Northern Irishman was in action with M-Sport Bentley once again last weekend as the Continental GT3 made its debut as part of the Blancpain Endurance series in Monza.
Now, M-Sport is proud to implement Bentley's return to racing on home soil, and will be looking for a solid result at this weekend's opening fixture.

Rembert Berg said:

"It was a big surprise to be called up to race this weekend, but I am really looking forward to it and it is great to be back racing with the M-Sport team. I had a really good season with them last year. We all get on really well and it is fantastic to have the opportunity to be a part of the real deal with the car that they have been developing for the past year.

"I'm not completely new to the [Bentley] Continental GT3 having driven the car during winter testing. It's a great car, and it will be nice to be back behind the wheel in competition. I'm also really looking forward to working with Steven [Kane]. He's a very quick driver and I'm sure I can learn a lot from him. Oulton Park is not the easiest of tracks, but let's get out there and see what we can do."

M-Sport Racing Team Manager, Matthew Wilson, said:

"It's a real shame that Humaid [Al Masaood] couldn't be with us for the first race of the season, but we have the perfect replacement in Rem [Rembert Berg]. He did a great job with the team last year – helping us secure two podium finishes in what was our debut year on the racetrack – and I am confident that he and Steven [Kane] will be able to secure a solid result on what will be the Continental GT3s debut on home soil."
