Luis Perez Companc has made a name for himself in South America as a previous Argentina Rally Championship winner and looked to capitalize on his title when he rejoined again the WRC for ten events during 2007. Companc made his rally driver debut in 2000 at the Rally de Rojas and since then, has competed in a number of Group N events, including a fourth place finish at his very first WRC Group N rally, Argentina, in 2001. Rally driving, however, was never intended to be his sporting forte. He had been co-driving for his brother Jorge on a cross country event in Sardinia when they crashed badly, and the two brothers agreed to swap seats - and not be together in the same car any more!
In 2006, Luis joined Matthew Wilson riding under the Stobart VK Ford banner for a total of eight WRC events. For 2007 he joined the Munchi's team and invited Juan Pablo Raies to be the second driver to contest ten rounds of the series aboard the Focus WRC 06. Luis' best result of 2007 was fifth in Japan. In 2008 he will only drive in Argentina, Jordan and Finland.
